It is estimated that between 60–70% of EU soils are unhealthy, placing increasing pressure on food systems, biodiversity, water regulation, and climate resilience. Soil is a fragile and finite resource that must be carefully managed and safeguarded for future generations.
In support of this EU Green Deal and its broader policy framework, we are convening Soil Health Now!, an international conference that brings together key stakeholders to discuss and advance soil health methods, technologies, standards, and real-world applications. This year, the programme places particular emphasis on emerging and strategic topics, including:
- Carbon Removal and Carbon Farming (CRCF) frameworks and verification
- The upcoming Soil Monitoring Law and its implementation implications
- Integrated soil–water–climate research approaches
- Soil biodiversity assessment, indicators, and restoration strategies
The conference will gather:
- EU agencies, programmes, and research units
- Horizon Europe and Soil Mission projects
- Academic institutions and soil experts
- Farmers and farmer organisations
- Industry and technology providers
- Educational and capacity-building institutions
By fostering dialogue across science, policy, and practice, Soil Health Now! aims to accelerate collaboration, harmonise approaches, and support the development of interoperable, scalable solutions that contribute to measurable improvements in soil health across Europe.
So, mark the dates in your calendar and prepare for the “Soil Health Now” conference:
- 1st of July 2026: abstract submissions close;
- 1st of September 2026: early-bird registrations close;
