DESCRIPTION:The absorption of telluric greenhouse gases in the Earth&#39\;s
  atmosphere and the\nmethodology for determining the concentrations of CO 
 2 and CH 4 through satellite\nobservations are the focal points of this tu
 torial. For this tutorial\, relevant aspects are\ndiscussed in the lecture
  on Radiative Transfer. The tutorial will guide participants in\nsimulatin
 g the solar spectrum that is reflected by the Earth&#39\;s atmosphere and\
 nsubsequently measured by satellites. Emphasis will be placed on the 1.6 
 µm spectral\nrange that encompasses the absorption bands of CO 2 \, CH 4 
 \, and water vapor. It is\nused by several satellite missions to infer gre
 enhouse gas abundances from\nradiometric observations. The model that we w
 ill use will incorporate fundamental\ninstrument characteristics such as s
 pectral resolution and sampling\, facilitating a\ncomparison between our s
 imulation and actual observations obtained from the\nGOSAT satellite. By a
 djusting the input parameters of the model\, we strive to\nenhance the con
 cordance between the model&#39\;s predictions and observed data\,\nthereby
  allowing us to ascertain the total quantities of CO 2 and CH 4 present in
  the\nmonitored atmosphere.
