DESCRIPTION:The lecture will address how we analyse Earth Observation data\
nToday\, local or cloud-based\, and how we ended up in the current\nsituat
ion. It will also address to which extent cloud platforms\nare built on op
en source software\, and how the Earth Observation\ncommunity can continue
  working towards a scientific practice that\nis sustainable\, FAIR\, and t
hat complies to open science requirements.

DESCRIPTION:The workshop will repeat some theory about what multidimensiona
l\narrays are in computer science as well as in R and Python\, and\ndiscus
s how they can be used for solving Earth Observations problems.\nIn partic
ular it will discuss the use of arrays for time series\ndata\, for spatial
data (raster maps\, stacks of raster maps)\, for\nspatiotemporal data (ti
me series of raster maps or stacks)\, and for\ntime series of feature (poi
nt or polygon) data (vector data cubes).\nAll will be illustrated by examp
les in R and Python\, in parallel.\nExamples will be (mostly) reproducible
  by participants.
